Welcome to the Bookworm Reads FAQ page! Whether you're new to our community or a seasoned ProWorm, we've compiled answers to some of the most common questions to help you make the most of your experience.

Getting Started with Bookworm

Yes! In fact, the experience is even better on our mobile app because that's where we release all of our features first. The mobile app is fully equipped with everything you need to track your reading, connect with other book lovers, and customize your wormy experience. While our web app is great for basic features, it’s still missing some of those cool features that are available on mobile. For the full Bookworm experience, we highly recommend using our mobile app!

Importing your book library is simple. We have instructions on how to export your library from other apps and how to import them to Bookworm here.

Absolutely! One of the fun parts of being a Bookworm Reads user is customizing your worm character. Here’s how:
  1. Go to your profile and select "Edit profile."
  2. Choose from various outfits, colors, and besties.
  3. ProWorms get access to exclusive outfits and customizations, so don't forget to check those out!

Account and Subscription Management

To reset your password in the mobile app:
  1. On the login screen, click "Forgot Password."
  2. Enter your registered email address, and we'll send you a magic code to get into your account.
  3. Once in, go to your profile page.
  4. Click the settings cog in the top right.
  5. Click Edit profile
  6. Scroll to the bottom and click “Reset password”

We're sorry to see you go, but if you need to cancel your ProWorm subscription, it's easy to do:
  • If you got it through Apple's App Store, you can manage your subscription from Settings, tap your name, then "Subscriptions" (more info here).
  • If you got the subscription through Stripe, you can go here to manage the subscription: here.
After canceling, you will still have access to your ProWorm benefits until the end of your current billing period. If you change your mind, you can always re-subscribe at any time!

Using Bookworm Features

If you can't find a book using Search:
  1. Go to the "Search" page in the app.
  2. Search the book in question. Feel free to use the “advanced search” option to get specific
  3. If you don't find it, tap "Submit it" under the search bar
  4. ProWorms can add books immediately to their library, while non-Pro users will have their submissions reviewed by our team.

Yes, your data is absolutely safe with us. We prioritize your privacy and do not sell your data to third parties. Our platform is designed to respect your privacy while giving you the best possible reading experience.

If you ever decide to delete your Bookworm account, all associated data will be permanently deleted from our systems. This includes your reading history, book lists, and any personal information.
